This film, directed by Factory Fifteen, was created for the launch of the Spitfire Colossus collection.
I was in charge of the creation of the alien war scene.
The scene was created kit bashing a mix of ready made assets, some I modified to help the narration of the story.
A lot of effort has been put into optimising the scene, making use of VRay proxies, TX textures and VDBs in AUR format.
The render was divided in light passes, to be able to fine tweak in real time in Nuke the different light intensities and colours.
Houdini simulation to create the destructed version of the bridge asset.

Houdini ragdoll simulation to pose the blasted soldiers and metal bending simulation to deform the exploded tank.

I also helped growing ivy on some assets for the ruin scene, using a Houdini tool I created following this tutorial which I modified to our needs.
